Meet Your Presenters:
Dr Casey Going is a Queensland-based General Practitioner and a graduate of the University of Queensland. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, having completed his training in 2022. Casey practices at the Condamine Medical Centre and St Andrews Hospital in the Darling Downs, with special interests in internal medicine, cardiology, and emergency medicine.
Casey has earned a Master of Internal Medicine through the University of Sydney, a Master of Business Administration through the Australian Institute of Business and is an Associate Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (AFRACMA).
A passionate educator and public speaker, Casey is a toastmaster and frequently delivers lectures and presentations aimed at empowering General Practitioners. He is dedicated to improving the business side of General Practice, ensuring both practitioners and patients benefit from enhanced processes and outcomes.
In 2023, Casey joined BFD Education to provide MBS education and develop online workshops tailored for GP Registrars. His focus is on improving MBS compliance and assisting GPs in optimising their billings while maintaining ethical and patient-centered care.
Dr Sarvan Sumra is a GP with a specialist interest in Diabetes and Business Development, including improving GP systems and workflows and trying to maximise offering to patients. He has been investing stocks and shares for the last 14 years, helping to run an SMSF with a Financial Advisor and Stockbroker, and has been developing an Amazon business globally for the last 5-6 years.
Dr Zoe Sumra is a GP who trained in the United Kingdom and relocated to Australia with her husband in 2017. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) from Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry. She is an accredited Fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).
Dr. Kathryn Eikenhorst is a NSW based General Practitioner who graduated from the University of Wollongong in 2011, completing her MBBS as a post-graduate student with an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Natural and Complementary Medicine. In 2018 she obtained a fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practice. Kathryn is a committed rural clinician, having worked in rural NSW for thirteen years and more recently in remote locations practicing skin cancer medicine. She is now undertaking training subspecialty training in skin cancer medicine and has a passion for preventative medicine and Nutrigenetics. Kathryn strives to provide high quality, preventive, holistic and integrative healthcare to her patients.
Kathryn is passionate about improving the sustainability of General Practice in Australia and helping colleges prevent professional burnout by educating them regarding working smarter and not harder. She is a role model for those who want to achieve a work life balance as a medical professional. Kathryn is one of the very first BFD presenters who started travelling all areas of Australia delivering MBS education with Dr Armstrong since 2019. She has been a cornerstone of MBS education by continuously adding values and providing support to create MBS education materials. Kathryn is passionate about educating colleges on how to be Medicare compliant.
Dr Sarah Lewis is a specialist General Practitioner having gained her fellowship in 2010. Sarah is the owner of Port Melbourne Medical, a large inner-city clinic that serves the Port Melbourne community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sarah and her clinic played a significant role in the response effort by running a dedicated Federal Government Respiratory Clinic, which assessed 75,000 patients, and a vaccination clinic that administered vaccines to 35,000 patients.
Passionate about supporting GPs, Sarah has special interests in mentorship, compliance, governance, and improving clinical processes and efficiencies. Sarah is a board member of AGPA, lending her experience and voice to advocate for GP-owned clinics. Outside of work, Sarah is married with two children and has a labradoodle named Saint.
