About this event

The introduction of the Medicare Safety Net in 1989 was to provide additional funding to patients who had paid a significant portion of their income on eligible outpatient health services. This two tired system provides higher rebates for patients who reach the safety net threshold with additional benefits payable once the reach the second threshold the extended Medicare safety net. Utilising the knowledge of how rebates are included and gaps are paid will assist you patients in timing appointments to increase their opportunities to claim MBS billed items under the safety net program.
