Recent studies have shown that mindfulness can provide substantial benefits to our paediatric population and is a valuable tool for doctors to use when working with their younger patients, helping children to feel more relaxed, finding their ‘still, quiet place’ where it is easier for them to talk about their concerns and stressors.
We will practice core skills you can teach and use with paediatric patients, through in-session exercises, such as guided meditation, breathwork and gentle movement activities. You will leave with strategies children can apply at home, to create their own calm, clarity and focus when they need to support themselves, such as before an exam, during a medical consultation or during family difficulties e.g. parental separation.
