Positive, motivated, entrepreneur, leader, director, and mentor.

Founder of a Medical Business, social initiative and now registered NFP Charity the Wheels of Wellness Ltd, providing health and holistic outreach care to the vulnerable – I remain grounded and motivated to engage with local businesses and the community at large to work collaboratively for better outcomes for both individuals and society. I enjoy mentoring others to develop similar programs to uplift their communities.

I bring to the table experience in the Primary Health Care sector, Non-Governmental Organisation Directorship, Local Business, Clinical Governance, Management, and am a practicing GP. Originally trained in South Africa, and then further in Australia, I have established and directed private and funded healthcare programs in both countries.

Prior to specialising in General Practice and Rural and Remote Healthcare in Australia, I was a Critical Care Nurse and Midwife, and an Honorary Adjunct Assistant Professor at Bond University. I am a current supervisor to James Cook University medical students, and General Practice registrars.

I have experience in Aeromedical retrieval, originally as a critical care flight nurse in Sub Saharan Africa and then as a Doctor with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Australia for ten years. With the RFDS I provided Emergency medical care and Retrieval services across Far North Queensland and Primary Health care to remote and First Nations Communities.

I am still involved in providing quality care to the local communities as a practicing GP, am a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner, and the Founding Director and Principal Doctor at Stratford Medical Centre, winning a Business Award in 2016. I am an advocate for Mental Health awareness and supporting us all to make the world a better place in various ways.

Out of Stratford Medical Centre, I started a social enterprise providing primary health care to homeless and vulnerable community members. I am on the Board of, and am the Medical Advisor to the Wheels of Wellness – now a registered charity.

I hold and enjoy my other role on the Board of the Cairns and Hinterland Health and Hospital Services.

My focus is on innovation and strategy in healthcare management, program design, quality systems, and optimising healthcare delivery.
